Barry and Joe have started the epic ten-day ride from Durban
on the East coast of South Africa to Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape. Watch as they battle gated communities,
unsympathetic drivers, tar roads and industrial areas, persistent rainfall and
rides far into the night.
After making it through the sprawling suburbia south of
Durban, the guys battle through the rough terrain of the Wild Coast. An uphill
slog on the R61, in 36 degree heat, drains their energy and when they make a
wrong turn that evening, they question whether they will make it to the Old
Bunting Mission Station.
Barry and Joe are more than halfway through their epic ten-day horseback adventure from Durban to Grahamstown but they are facing an uphill battle. After they take a wrong turn, they fall way behind schedule. Will they get to Butterworth in time?

It’s day 7 of The
Ride. The horses have been working hard and Barry and Joe’s bodies are well and
truly battered after a total of 77 hours in the saddle. The guys will be driven
back to their pick up point 40kms outside of Butterworth and their mission is
not only to make up lost time but also to do it fast enough to get a good night’s
sleep - a must for the exhausted team.
