Description: Sandra and Carl have emigrated from Germany to live on this tranquil country retreat in the Robertson Valley and Justin is both charmed and green with envy. Their laid back lifestyle lends itself to strolls in the veggie garden and lazy evening in the pub. Sandra lets Justin in on how to prepare many of her fresh and original dishes but holds out on the recipe for her “dream of Africa” dessert. Justin decides that these good people should be initiated into the greater African tribe and prepares a lamb neck potjie to seal the deal.
On the Menu: Grilled steak tartare, Vanilla prawn pasta, ‘Dream of Africa’ & Lamb neck in a potjie
Highlights:To us the hand seems like a friendly gesture of welcome . . .
Loved this show...caught it early on a sunday morning..I'll be watching from now on. The thought of Sandra and Carls lifestyle made me truely envious...what a fabulous way to live. Particularly liked the steak recipe...seared on one side then a marinade/salad on top...can you give me a hint as to what was in the marinade? Cheers Col
Hi Justin/ Team Cooked! My family and love your show and have watched every season of Cooked, including Getaway Africa. We love that we get to travel with you, watch you cook and eat food. *laughs* I seriously think that this show should be broadcast on SABC, all South Africans should watch you guys, because your show is like an adventure! (^^,) Oh before I forget my brother would love to have the recipe for the lamb neck potjie from Ep: 8. I'd really appreciate the reply. Thank you...All the best. Vaneshree Naidoo
