<description>Karl , you are a man after my own heart, I see friends getting on planes to fly overseas every day and I can’t ever imagine leaving this amazing continent. I had a similar thing happen to me with an elephant while I was on an overland trip in Namibia, I was cooking for my guests and they said look there is an elephant behind you! When I turned around it was right behind me but seemed pretty relaxed as it was eating of the tree in our campsite. So I had to stand less than two meters away from the elephant while I finished cooking dinner, a bit frightening, but that’s Africa! You can’t compare office life to the life of a guide, at least like you say, you had the opportunity to spend time doing what you love.

Great hearing from you

Look out for future articles

<description>It is true what you say, i try and take lots of photo when i am on leave, but never wright about them, i think once you start doing this you will never forget it.
I was a game ranger for 8 year and now i work in the concrete jungle, all i need to do to relax is to look at the photo i took of the bush and the memories help with the stress, of coarse a shot of amarola on crushed ice helps to. Food also helps bring back memories, like making breakfast in the bush, slaving over a cadac skottel and when you look up you see a elephant walking straight towards you, rifle is in the truck, so what do you do,well i ran towards him waving my hand towel and splutterer (MAD), but it worked, he move off and we sat and had breakfast. Good memories of the bush.

		<description>Hi Chris
I am happy to hear that you are inspired. Once the travel bug bites it is difficult to shake the fever. We are very blessed in Africa, you can travel to the same place at different times of year and it will be like you are visiting it for the first time. As the seasons change, so do the bugs the flowers and even the way people live, a living canvas!
