Ingredients
1.5 kg self raising flour
15 ml baking powder (1 tablespoon heaped)
500 ml sugar (2 cups)
3 eggs
500 g butter or margarine (2 cups)
500 ml buttermilk (2 cups)
45 ml lemon juice (3 tablespoons)
Directions
1. Cream eggs and sugar together
2. Mix in the buttermilk and juice
3. Melt the butter and combine with the above ingredients
4. Sift the dry ingredients
5. Mix the dry and wet ingredients with your hands until it forms a stiff dough
6. Grease any baking dish
7. Make medium size balls with the dough
8. Arrange them side by side on your baking dish
9. Bake at 180°C degrees (360 degrees F) for 60 minutes
10. Remove and place in a dry area overnight
11. Wake up, make your favourite coffee, dip, dunk and enjoy!
